Tá Ceolfhoireann RTÉ ag tacú le healaíontóirí ó 1948, agus tá ríméad orthu tacú leis an ócáid speisialta seo i gcroílár na Gaeltachta i nDún na nGall.
RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta and the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will stage a special concert celebrating the most loved songs of the Gaeil, songs suggested and recommended by the audience in the #AmhranRnaG campaign which featured on the Cóisir Cheoil music programme broadcast on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
The concert will be held in the local parish church, Teach Pobail Chríost Rí in Gort a’Choirce, Co. Donegal on Wednesday, 7th October 2026. This concert forms part of RTÉ’s centenary celebrations of public service broadcasting in Ireland, RTE100, and is one of the events associated with the Irish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
Dónall Mac Ruairí, presenter of Cóisir Cheoil, will be the event’s host.
The Orchestra will be joined by wonderful singers and musicians, who will perform a selection of tracks from the audience’s suggestion list, particularly those listed from 10-1. This is a great opportunity to reimagine creatively some of our favourite songs and to present them to a live audience.
The RTÉ Orchestra has been supporting artists since 1948 and are delighted to be supporting this special event in the heart of the Gaeltacht in County Donegal.

 

Peter Gabriel Jazz Rock Suite

The RTÉ Concert Orchestra honours the pop legend Peter Gabriel with an exciting and original jazz rock suite, arranged by Reinout Douma, founder and leader of Noordpool Orkest in Groningen. Douma is also the mastermind behind Radiohead, A Jazz Symphony, performed by the RTÉ CO at the NCH 2023 and 2025.
During this special evening, enjoy the well-known music from Peter Gabriel’s time at Genesis, but also many other musical styles that he engaged with during his solo career, such as rock, world music and jazz.
The suite was composed in honor of Peter Gabriel’s seventieth birthday, six years ago. With room for adventurous grooves and improvisations where musicians stand together, it promises to be a swinging celebration of now 76 years of the legend.
Peter Gabriel is known as one of the creative minds of the rock group Genesis, as a solo artist and as the creator and driving force behind many major projects. He is seen as one of the most innovative progressive rock artists of the last decades. “My name is Peter Gabriel and primarily I make noises – and ideas”.

Come and celebrate October 31st with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra, the night when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest.
You might know it as Halloween, but the origins of this carnival of all things supernatural lie deep within our Celtic roots – traditions such as trick or treat, apple bobbing and jack o’lanterns were all part of Samhain, the pagan Harvest-time celebration of All Hallow’s Eve.
Join us in a musical celebration of this ancient Irish festival – and indulge our continuing love for all things ghoulish, ghostly and chilling of the spine. We’ll certainly put a spell on you, thanks to the RTE Concert Orchestra under the baton of our very own Fright Manager, Mister Guy “Beetlejuice” Barker, with voodoo vocals from “Killer Joe” Stilgoe and Naomi “Vampira” Banks. It’ll be a family affair – The Addams Family, that is – and bound to be a bit of a thriller. So, don’t be a Halloween Grinch, bring your best Vincent Price laugh, your shrunken head, a box of Black Magic, and get ready to mash those monsters.
